What is Hemp Derived CBD?

Everywhere you look hemp has made its way to the forefront of today’s market. While some people may think hemp is the same as marijuana, this is not the case. Both are part of the cannabis family, but industrial hemp plants have no more than 0.3 percent THC, the compound that gives marijuana its psychotropic effects.

Hemp produces more CBD than THC and research has shown CBD reduces the effects of THC on the brain, separating it even further from marijuana.

One of the most widely researched and recognized benefits of hemp derived CBD is its role in reducing inflammation, which plays a role in many different illnesses. CBD reduces inflammation at the cellular level. This means CBD’s effect on a specific type of cell called oligodendrocyte progenitor cells (OPC’s), found in the central nervous system and is particularly vulnerable to damage. Researchers from Spain, Brazil, and Israel found that CBD protects OPC’s from cell death by blocking the stress caused from inflammation and oxidation.

Our Story

Zen Gummy is owned and operated by a collaboration of families committed to the science of nature. Through the healthy benefits of hemp, CBD oil, organic whole foods, and Probiotics our bodies live well to be well.

Our co-founder, Richard McPeak understood the science of nature during humble beginnings in 1996 at his family health food store, studying the benefits of organic whole foods, spices, herbs, and Probiotics. Richard went on to create the world’s first certified organic, non-gmo project verified, food-based gummy supplement for his kindergarten son, Conner and kids around the world. Through years of a soul to soul marketing, one happy customer at a time, Richard created an entire family wellness line of organic, food-based gummy supplements and Probiotics.

Zen Gummy was born from Richard’s son, Conner, and wife Mimi, looking to the science of nature to strengthen Richard’s body, reduce anxiety, help him sleep, and reduce his pain from a sizable tumor. His family researched the health benefits of CBD oil, Probiotics and organic whole foods. They visited their local health food store offering CBD oil believing it may help Richard’s mind and body during the heavy rounds of opioids prescribed for pain from a limb salvage surgery and radiation. Unable to digest many different foods, gummies and liquids were the perfect delivery system. Zen Gummy delivers CBD oil and spices inside of a delicious gummy, food inside food.

The Zen Gummy family is committed to honoring the science of nature, and through its wisdom, our bodies live well to be well. Your family can smile knowing all our gummies and products are filled with garden goodness.
